Pre-K

A few months ago I'm thinking it was in January we signed Carson up for pre-k at the rec center just to give him a little school experience before he started kindergarten in the fall. It was harder I think for me the first day than for him! He was a little shy, and shed a tear but he did really good!! I had to have Chris be the one to take him in...I just couldn't do it. :-( It's only 2 days a week for 4 hours, so nothing too major, but it's been really great for him. He's learned a lot, and gotten used to the idea of going to school. He had to stop going this month because with the move money got tight, but we're hoping to get him back in once we get to Utah until he starts kindergarten in Aug. He's really excited about school! He is my little learner...he LOVES school and loves to learn. He's a super smart little cookie! He's really excited about kindergarten and making new friends and he feels like such a big boy to have a back pack and to be going off to school while Landon and Lilli have to stay home...he tells them that when they are big like him they will be able to go to school too! :-) I just can't believe that my little baby is about to be 5 and about to go off to kindergarten!!! But I'm really excited for him and really glad that the new baby will be born around the time Carson starts school so that I will have a slight distraction. I'm actually due the weekend of that first week of school...not the best time so I'm hoping that she comes early...but two weeks early may be a little too much, we'll see.

Moving on Up...

Carson moved up to his next class in January also. He got a new teacher, but stayed with his old sunbeam buddies, so he's been doing really great. He has come a long way in regard to his shyness!

Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam...

We got a new little Sunbeam in January! Lilli made the cut and she was so excited to go to primary with mommy and Carson! She got a cute little teacher who's great with her little sunbeam class. There are three little girls and three little boys in Lilli's class, and she's already got a little admirer, an adorable little Hispanic boy named Diego. Diego is a real ladies man I must say...He's always saving Lilli a seat, and trying to hold her hand and the cutest thing is when he puts his hand on her lower back to help her get up from her seat. I was talking to his mom the other day and she was apologizing for her son being such a flirt...I don't mind it's so cute and I don't blame him for having his eye on Lilli...she's definitely a cutie! She's been doing really great in her new class, the only problem is that it's been a little hard to get her to focus during sharing time with me and my class sitting two rows behind her, but listening and being respectful and reverent is something we are tryiing hard to work on.

Haircut!

Chris took Lilli a few months ago for her first "real" haircut, I was still feeling pretty yucky but her hair was all in her eyes and I decided to cut the bottom few inches of stringy baby hair so that it would hopefully cause her hair to grow in thicker and more even. I noticed the upper part of her hair was coming in more even and a lot thicker than the bottom few inches so we decided to go for a "bob." I will be honest I was sad and a little scared to have Chris take her. Worried he wouldn't convey what I wanted very well and super bummed to be missing the moment. I was also more than a little afraid that it would end with Lilli in tears. On more than one occasion she's let me know that she doesn't like short hair as much as long hair. She's even told me once or twice that I would look prettier if my hair was longer like the ladies in the magazines (referring to pantene ads she sees in my magazines, which honestly, they do have lovely hair). To my excitement and surprise when they returned everything was perfect! She had the cutest little bob, so daddy did good, she was an angel at the salon, and best of all she absolutely LOVED her new hair cut! She was ecstatic and couldn't stop touching it and looking at it. She had me take a picture and send it to grandma so grandma could see it! So now it's been about a month or two, it's grown out a little and I'm happy to report that her hair is growing in thicker and a lot more even and that Lilli is still loving her sassy new do!

Family Pictures

I believe it was back in November when we went and had these family pictures taken. A friend of mine whose an up and coming photographer here in Arlington said she was looking to start building her portfolio and website and offered to take some pictures for me for like $25 a session. A sweet deal for us, so I agreed. This was the first session we did. The kids are a little shy about being photographed by strangers so we decided to have my friend just take some candid shots of us playing at the park, and for the most part they didn't even know they were being photographed. I think they turned out pretty good, and we were really excited! Here are a couple of our favorite shots. We are in the works to do another session for easter hopefully soon!

What's New

Well I thought first I'd just do a little "what's new/catch up game' so I don't have like a "ka-gillion" (as Carson would say) posts. For anyone out there living under a rock that doesn't yet know, we are expecting another baby! Chris and I and the kids could not be more excited!!!! We don't know what we are having yet, we will actually find out next month right before Chris's birthday and yes I told him I am going to make him wait and find out as a birthday surprise. (We both know that I can not keep a secret so I'm sure that will not be the case). We did talk about it earlier today though and we are both totally fine, no preference either way as to the sex. Chris originally was thinking he would love another little girl, but Lilliana has been going through a "phase" (at least we are hoping) and she's been SUPER dramatic, and emotional so he's re-evaluating that choice. I love little boys, but my little girl is amazing too so I'm okay either way! The kids however are convinced it's a girl and they REALLY are hoping for a baby sister, especially Carson! If I had to take a guess today I would say boy, though unlike all the other pregnancies I'm having a rather hard time getting a good feeling either way, so day to day it changes. I am 4 months along now and our new little baby is due in Aug, actually at the end, the 28th, although I'm hoping that as usual I will be induced earlier than that.

Another bit of news, Chris and I after doing a lot of praying, fasting and pondering have come to the decision that continuing on the dental school path is not the right thing for our family. The Lord has confirmed that for us and we are ready to move on to bigger and better things, and just ready to move on with our life! This means that Chris is done with school and now in full search of a career. Unfortunately this decision has also fallen on the worst possible time for job hunting that we could have imagined with the economy the way it is and all those who are also out looking for jobs. We are trying to remain hopeful that something will come about shortly, and we are applying to jobs both in Texas and in Utah, sooo....if anyone hears about anything, by all means SHARE and keep us in mind!!!! We are looking at all of our possible options, do we stay here or do we move? Things at this point are still up in the air and undecided (a fact, that keeps me up at night). We will however have to be making our decisions SOON because Carson is due to start kindergarten in the fall and I am due to have a baby around that same time as well, and both require us to know where we will be living and what we will be doing. So keep us in your prayers and we will keep you all updated!

I think for this post that is going to do it. I will post more pics and stories soon so keep checking back!

Long time...

WOW! Christmas was my last update I can't believe it...I'm so sorry to all the Grandparents out there!!! Let's just say that life has been a little busy and crazy as life often is...and I lost track of the blog. I'm feeling much better now, and things are getting somewhat back on track, well until life gets crazy again as I'm fearing it will shortly. I will be getting the pictures off of my camera and phone soon and will update the blog hopefully shortly there after, so check back in the next couple of days for new posts! :-)

Super Funny Kids Quotes!

New Quotes.:

I asked the kids if they wanted mommy to have another baby? They said yes so I asked Lilli if she would want a little brother, to which she replied, "We already have a little brother...it's over there."

Carson and I were playing Go Fish and as usual he beat me pretty bad ;), he quickly ran to tell daddy, "I cleaned the foor with mommy!"

I plan out the dinners for the month on a calander in the kitchen and Friday's are always pizza days. A few Friday's ago Carson was so excited ALL day for Pizza. He kept asking if it was time yet, I kept telling him it wasn't pizza time yet and finally when Chris got home from work Carson ran up to him and asked, "Daddy, NOW is it Pizza O'clock?" (translation, "is it Pizza time yet)

On the Fourth of July Chris and I took the kids to see the fireworks show and we were eager to see what Landon's reaction would be to them. As soon as they started, he got a little startled but it quickly turned to excitement and then he would point to them and say "POPCORN!"

We often drive by the new Cowboys stadium and Carson will ask about it we'll tell him it's where the Cowboys play football...the other day we went there to drop Chris and a few of my brothers off to watch a soccer game, and Carson asked about what they were going to watch, I said soccer this time not football. A week later at church when we were walking the halls Carson asks about the pictures of the Temples on the wall so we'll tell him they are Temples and explain about them and he turns to us and asks, "But what about the soccer Temple? Where's the picture of the soccer Temple?" (it's a BIG stadium and I guess to him it looked like it should be on the wall of Temples.)

We were going grocery shopping the other day, Carson asked where we were going and I told him to the food store. Right then we passed McDonalds and he asks me, "At McDonalds they sell food right?" I said yes and he asks, "If they sell food there, then it's a food store right?" I again say yes I suppose so, and he says, "Well if it's a food store, then maybe we should go there this time."

When we were in Utah Uncle Daniel would take the kids out on the trampoline every now and then. Once they were out there and Lilli was bothered that Carson was jummping and bouncing her all around so she tells him, Carson stop, you're making me bounce and Carson replied, "that's not my problem." (A little rude.)

We went to lunch one day to Paradise bakery and Chris and I got a bowl of creamy potato soup. We sat down started eating and the kids started inquiring about our soup. We said it was potato soup with cheese...Carson shoot up and said to Chris, "That sounds like my kind of soup!" (We were laughing hysterically!)
