Sad Days...

My poor babies are sick! I hate when my babies are sick they get so sad, and it breaks my heart. Especially when the doctors say they can't do anything and that they need to just ride it out! I understand that but it hurts me to have to see them so sad and in pain.

On Sunday at church it was ward conference so me and Chris were together with Landon in our joint meeting and Landon was being unusually fussy, so Chris checked his teperature and he had a slight fever. We gave him some meds and got him comfortable so that he fell asleep and we were able to stay through sacrament. When we got home he was still running a little fever, but he seemed to do okay as long as he had some medicine in him. He really did not have any other symptoms just a fever.

Monday morning we woke up and when I went to get Landon he was burning up! I checked his temperature and it had spiked to 103. I gave him a quick shot of motrin and another of tylenol and stripped him down to his diaper and half an hour later his fever went down and he seemed ok. After his nap his meds had worn off and he was burning up again. I checked his temp and it had spiked once again to 103. I redosed him and called the doctor who seemed concerned that he may have the flu and urged me to bring him in later in the afternoon to just get him checked out. A half hour later he threw up and I noticed he was still miserable , shaking and really hot so I checked his temp again and it had spiked to 105! I called the doc and they told me I needed to get his core temp down fast and that if I couldn't to take him to the hospital. Luckily for me I have been through this once before with Carson and they had told me how to get his core temp down FAST! I threw him in a cold bath with a popsicle and sure enough it went down quick! (It broke my heart thought to do it the poor baby was shivering and screaming!)

We made it to our appointment which was good, and they checked him out head to toe and told us it didn't seem like the flu and that he had a virus that he just needed to ride out and to give it 5 days to pass. But to keep an eye on him and keep him hydrated and make sure his temp didn't get too high.

So far today he's been about the same. Fine when his meds kick in but when they wear off he's right back up to 103-104 temps. I hate seeing my poor baby so unhappy! Luckily for me we had freezing rain and Chris's school was closed today so I had him home to help me out! It looks like we may have a bad weather day tomorrow too so he may be home from work which will help me out because this evening Lilli started to have a fever too!

I hope this passes soon for my kids it makes me so sad for them to not be their normal, happy, playful selves! I'm on day 4 for Landon and I'm thinking if he is still doing bad tomorrow that he might have to get a blessing, at least for some comfort!

My hope is that it doesn't make it's way through all 5 of us! Especially me cuz when I get sick everything seems to fall apart...no matter how hard Chris tries to keep it all together!

Dog Pile on Daddy

So the kids seem to think that whenever daddy lays down on the floor that means that they get get to start tackling him and ganging up on him. It's his own fault really because he starts it usually. Sunday after church and nap time our sitting around playing games turned into an all out wrestling match between the kids and Chris.
First Lilli conqured daddy tackling him to the floor and sitting on him so he couldn't get up. Which made me laugh because Landon came running over all concerned and bent down to make sure daddy was okay.

Second however, Landon decided that it looked fun and took his turn being King of the Mountain. He was so proud of himself too!

Then Lilli came rushing over all concerned about the craziness that was beginning to unfold.

And pretty soon Carson was in on the fun. I like this picture because Chris started wrestling with Landon, had him pinned finally (he's a squirmmy one to pin down) and then Carson jummped on and I managed to get this shot when Carson socked daddy right in the face! (Notice the look on Chris's face)

And finally it ended in a full out dog pile on top of daddy. They went on like this for a good 15 minutes before the kids finally got the best of Chris and he had had enough. It was fun times though! I'd say this display happens about once a day at least at our house. But again don't feel bad for Chris because he brings it on himself and usually he's the one that starts it!

My little Sunbeam!

Oh my little man is growing up so fast! This month Carson graduated from nursery to Sunbeams! He is so cute in his little argyle sweater he got it for Christmas from his Tia Vicky and he loves to wear it to church! Chris gets him dressed on Sunday mornings and does his hair and he'll come and find me and tell me "Mommy look, I look like a stud like daddy!" He's so shy and timid that it was hard to get him to make the switch to nursery, we were worried about having to make the move from nursery to primary. Thank goodness for all the wonderful teachers in our ward! They were wonderful in nursery and his Sunbeams teacher is so wonderful too! I'm the kind of mom who thinks it's better to just throw them into a new situation and let them adjust. To me the adjustment period is so much faster than if I try to be more delicate and stick around to ease them in. I like to take them and leave and not worry about if their screaming or not. (That may sound horrible) So I've loved the fact that the teachers in the ward have shared in my theory! Carson made the adjustment pretty well. He cried, and screamed at first that I was leaving him with a stranger, but in 5 minutes he was over it and when I came to pick him up he didn't wanna leave his new teacher. He really likes her and he said she was really nice and that he wanted to come back and go to class again. He spent all sacrament telling me about what he learned and he couldn't wait to tell Grandma too! Lilli's next, next January she'll make the switch too. But we're actually looking forward to this March when Landon will finally be in nursery and we'll be baby free in our classes. Chris is actually the one who takes him to class, so I should say he's really looking forward to it more than me!

Mmm Mmm Good!

Landon is so my super funny kid! He keeps Chris and I laughing all day! It seems that everything he does is just soooo funny! It's weird but sometimes he's not even trying to be funny, he's just sitting there playing or watching TV with us but me and Chris will look at him and burst into laughter. He just is a funny kid. He knows it too, he spends most of his time trying to be a ham and make us laugh. It's fun yea, but it also makes it super hard to scold him, or to tell him no. His tantrums are even funny!

On this particular day I had made up a batch of Chicken Enchilada soup for dinner and served him up a bowl. I watched him at first and he was eating with his spoon and eating really good... for a one year old. Then a while later I noticed he was almost done with his soup. A while later I came back to check on him and this is what I found. I can only guess that he got to the point where the spoon was no longer able to get the soup out of the bowl, but he could see that there was still soup to be eaten, so he took matters into his own hands. Of course I didn't get mad, how could I the kid had me laughing hysterically and it's hard to get mad at him when he makes you laugh so hard! Oh and yes he has it all over his hair!

Christmas Jammies

Grandma Leslie gives the kiddos their Christmas Jammies every year and they are always so darn cute! They always wear them to bed on Christmas Eve and it's kind of become our tradition to make sure we get a group picture of the three them in their Christmas Jammies on Christmas morning to send to Grandma Leslie. It just occurred to me today that I had not put those pictures on the blog yet. I call Landon my little monkey baby so I thought it was fitting that his jammies had monkeys on them. I found it hard to get a group picture of the kids, they weren't really wanting to sit still, especially Landon, but I think I got a few that are okay.

So Carson for Christmas got some new wheels! He got his very own John Deer Tractor that he can drive himself! It's the cutest little thing that even comes with an attachable trailer that hooks onto the back of the Tractor. Christmas morning at my mom's house Chris took him outside so that he could take it for a spin around the yard. It took him a little bit to figure out the pressure for the pedals but he got it down and was going around and around like a pro!

Poor thing was sick Christmas morning and super tired. His rough morning finally caught up to him while he was taking his new wheels for a spin!

Christmas Morning!

Christmas Morning was a whirlwind! We got in about 9pm the night before from Utah and the kids were all sick with fever and nausea but when we landed they started asking for Grandma Lilly, who couldn't make it to the airport because she didn't want to leave all the family at the Christmas eve party (totally understandable). Carson most of all was dying to see Grandma so we had to pop on over to her house for a minute to say hi, then it was off to rush home and go to bed before Santa came! We did manage to borrow some cookies and carrots from Grandma to leave for Santa and the reindeer, so that was a crisis averted!

Christmas morning Chris and I had to wake the kids up by 8:15 because they were still sound asleep, but we had to meet my family at my parents house for our Christmas breakfast and to open gifts there. The kids were feeling a little better which was a relief, but they still weren't 100%. It took them a little bit to get excited about the presents Santa left because they were chilly...When we arrived home the night before we were surprised to realize that our heater was broken and it was actually kind of a cold night in Texas. Hence the pictures of Christmas morning with Carson all bundled up on the floor like a burrito!

But the kids had a good time on Christmas they got a lot of fun toys to add to all the fun stuff that they got from our family in Utah! Lilli's great gift was a new kitchen set, and Carson got a tool work bench and a power wheels tractor that he can drive himself! Oh and he did also get the one thing that he wanted which was Hungry, hungry hippos! Chris got what he wanted a new R7 driver with a draw, and I got what I wanted a new cricut machine! So all in all it was a great Christmas!

Catching Up

Hello everyone...long time huh? Well I like everyone else I'm sure, got lost in the hustle of the holidays! And now I'm feeling the rush to get everything back on track, and back to normal! Since it's been a while since my last post, I thought it best to start off by playing a little catch up!

Let's see where to begin? The holidays for us were great but a little bittersweet! As soon as Chris got out of school for Christmas break we packed up and headed out to Utah to visit our friends and family. We had so much fun! We tried so hard to cram in visiting all of our friends and family but there is never enough time! We did get to visit most of our friends up in Logan and our family, we even got to crash a christmas party and play a Logan version of Amazing Race...that was a blast! ( We even managed to get kicked out of Walmart...a story for another post)I am a little bummed that I did miss out on visiting one of my college friends from Logan...we're always missing each other when I visit....Hopefully next trip up we can finally get together! The kids had a blast with Grandpa Gary, Grandma Leslie, Uncle Daniel and Spencer, and aunt Carli! We had fun down in centerville with Grandma Susie and everyone!

We did manage to cram in a few Christmas parties too. (5 to be exact). One of our favorite ones was the annual friends party that Chris's high school buddies have every year! It is always so much fun to get all Chris's old friends together and to hear the stories and see all their cute families! I hope that we will be able to make the friends party next year...Jamie that's you remember! Sadly we headed back home to meet Santa on Christmas Eve, it was sad to leave! Unfortunately we left with three sick kids who annoyed Ronnie Brewer who was on our flight and seated directly behind us, for the entire flight! (There went our chances for an autograph)

All in all we had so much fun, and we left wishing we didn't have to go! It's so hard to be away from all of our Utah friends and family! The kids had so much fun with their family and with their buddy Kenzie! Luckily we did get some news that we may be headed back up that way in June for a family event, and this time we're hoping to stay a little longer!

Super Funny Kids Quotes!

New Quotes.:

I asked the kids if they wanted mommy to have another baby? They said yes so I asked Lilli if she would want a little brother, to which she replied, "We already have a little brother...it's over there."

Carson and I were playing Go Fish and as usual he beat me pretty bad ;), he quickly ran to tell daddy, "I cleaned the foor with mommy!"

I plan out the dinners for the month on a calander in the kitchen and Friday's are always pizza days. A few Friday's ago Carson was so excited ALL day for Pizza. He kept asking if it was time yet, I kept telling him it wasn't pizza time yet and finally when Chris got home from work Carson ran up to him and asked, "Daddy, NOW is it Pizza O'clock?" (translation, "is it Pizza time yet)

On the Fourth of July Chris and I took the kids to see the fireworks show and we were eager to see what Landon's reaction would be to them. As soon as they started, he got a little startled but it quickly turned to excitement and then he would point to them and say "POPCORN!"

We often drive by the new Cowboys stadium and Carson will ask about it we'll tell him it's where the Cowboys play football...the other day we went there to drop Chris and a few of my brothers off to watch a soccer game, and Carson asked about what they were going to watch, I said soccer this time not football. A week later at church when we were walking the halls Carson asks about the pictures of the Temples on the wall so we'll tell him they are Temples and explain about them and he turns to us and asks, "But what about the soccer Temple? Where's the picture of the soccer Temple?" (it's a BIG stadium and I guess to him it looked like it should be on the wall of Temples.)

We were going grocery shopping the other day, Carson asked where we were going and I told him to the food store. Right then we passed McDonalds and he asks me, "At McDonalds they sell food right?" I said yes and he asks, "If they sell food there, then it's a food store right?" I again say yes I suppose so, and he says, "Well if it's a food store, then maybe we should go there this time."

When we were in Utah Uncle Daniel would take the kids out on the trampoline every now and then. Once they were out there and Lilli was bothered that Carson was jummping and bouncing her all around so she tells him, Carson stop, you're making me bounce and Carson replied, "that's not my problem." (A little rude.)

We went to lunch one day to Paradise bakery and Chris and I got a bowl of creamy potato soup. We sat down started eating and the kids started inquiring about our soup. We said it was potato soup with cheese...Carson shoot up and said to Chris, "That sounds like my kind of soup!" (We were laughing hysterically!)
